The Agency on 4th November,2025 appeared before the Senate Committee on National Cohesion and Equal Opportunity to present its progress report on inclusivity, gender balance, and regional representation within the Agency.

The session, chaired by Sen. Mohammed Chute (Marsabit), provided an opportunity for the Agency to outline deliberate measures undertaken to align its human resource practices with constitutional principles on equality, diversity, and fair representation in public service.
The CRVWWDA delegation was led by Chief Executive Officer CPA Douglas Murei, accompanied by Director Dr. Daniel Tuitoek and members of the senior management team. In his presentation, the CEO highlighted targeted internship and industrial attachment programmes designed to enhance access to opportunities for youth, women, and individuals from marginalized and underrepresented communities. These initiatives, he noted, form part of the Agency’s broader strategy to build an inclusive workforce while nurturing future professionals in the water sector.

CPA Murei further reiterated CRVWWDA’s commitment to fair, transparent, and merit-based recruitment processes, emphasizing that the Agency remains guided by national values and constitutional requirements on diversity and regional balance.
During the session, Nominated Senator Betty Montet commended the Agency for maintaining commendable standards in regional and gender representation, noting the Agency’s efforts as a positive example within the public sector.
In his closing remarks, Sen. Chute urged all public institutions to consistently uphold the principles of inclusivity, gender equity, and equitable regional representation, reiterating the Senate’s oversight role in promoting accountability, professionalism and cohesion in public service.

The Agency continues to strengthen its institutional frameworks to ensure equal opportunity, diversity and inclusivity remain central to its mandate and operations.
