Central Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency yesterday joined the President of the Republic of Kenya, H.E William Ruto and other Kenyans in supporting goat farming in Baringo County during the annual Kimalel Goat Auction at Kimalel Grounds Baringo County.
The Baringo County 9th annual Kimalel Goat Auction and cultural festival, themed "Harmony of Heritage: celebrating unity in diversity", saw more than 3,000 hybrid goats sold.
The majority of Baringo County is considered as semi arid and farmers heavily depend on resilient indigenous livestock for sustainable development.
The Agency has continued to provide sustainable water infrastructure in the county by implementing various water projects ranging from Dams, Boreholes, Pans and Last Mile Connectivity programs targeting more than 400,000 residents and 650,000 heads of livestock.
The Agency's chairman Hon. Ndiritu Mathenge, director Hon. Dr. Daniel Tuitoek and the acting Chief Executive Officer CPA. Douglas Murei was in attendance.
